I only read about the quilt during this, my first, visit, and I feel a fire starting under my ass already! We attended the Philly NORML Protest against Prohibition on 4/20, the event started off our 15th wedding anniversary festivities, and it lit a spark that is now a flame!

Hello!

My name is Adrianna and I am a volunteer with the YES on Initiative F campaign. Initiative F is a ballot measure that will tax, test, and regulate medical marijuana dispensaries in Los Angeles. This is the best option for our city because it will protect our patients, bring tax revenue, and keep our communities safe. I am reaching out to find volunteers in the Los Angeles area who would like to support our cause. Please check out www.voteyesonf.com and www.ddoesntwork.com for more info on the initiative. If you are interested, please send an email to adriannasbcc@gmail.com, thank you for all the work your organization does!

Hi Moms!

I am the Marijuana columnist for VICE Magazine, with my weekly Weediquette column running every sunday on Vice.com. A lot of the pieces are stories from my life, introducing pot to people in my family, and trying to humanize weed culture to the average person. I would absolutely love to do a piece on the great work Moms for Marijuana is doing. Please shoot me an email and let's discuss the possibilities!

Thank you!

As a Mom and a Multiple Sclerosis sufferer and someone who at age 30 had both hips replaced, this has become the only thing that relieves my pain. This is natural and is not laced with man made additives that causes long term damage to my liver. Alcohol is legal, but yet is kills thousands each year. I do not approve of any one smoke cannabis around their children, nor do I do it myself. But if I had the choice between painkillers that could lead to addiction and shorten my life...aka Vicodin and Percocet, eat away at one's liver 15 times worse than alcohol....I would choose cannabis any day.  http://www.rudemom.com/

I will make this short and explain in more detail when we speak. Texas CPS wants to make a case against me because they suspect i consume MARIJUANA. A disgruntled family member called them out of retaliation of a falling out we had. CPS showed up at my home a month ago. I took there unconstitutional drug test on th spot and passed. They looked around and considered the aligatons were indeed false. But the same person is now calling  over and over, (SOMEONE I HAVE NOT INTRACTED WITH A GOOD FEW MONTHS SO WOULD KNOW NOTHING ABOUT MY CURRENT ACTIONS) CPS came again twice and told me take another drug test. I told them they would need a court order for that because i have allready done this once and passed. Now that i told them to get a court orderthey are giving me problems. What should i do. I cant really afford a lawyer and if i get offered a court apointed lawyer then he will really be working with me but with the system. I am going to start a capaign to fight this. I will be gathering all the support i can. I am starting with MOTHERS FOR MARIJUANA. Mothers should not persicuted because they choose the natural way of heeling rather then the toxic way of pills and doctor prescribed mes. Please contact me and let me know how your group can help me or provide advise or stand on the front lines with me when i march 1,000 other Mothers for Marijuana to the STATE CAPITEL even if CPS.

I have sleeping problems. And anxiety issues. My husband has been in Afghanistan since 4 days after our first child was born six months ago and has another two months left over there. I smoke pot. Not a lot. Maybe two J's a day if it's a particularly stressful day. I don't need a lot. Just enough to mellow me out. You think I can get a licence? It's like pulling teeth. Marijuana is my miracle drug. Everything else makes me antsy and nervous and doesn't help with the panic attacks or anything. The doc put me on ciprolex. I took one. I was sick for four days. This needs to be legalized. Right now because marijuana is so scarce where I am and everyone is so secretive, I can't find any. I am taking OTC sleeping pills in order to sleep. All of these chemicals messing up my body. All I want is to be able to smoke marijuana and buy marijuana without having to do a brick dance (LOL) first. I'm tired of the games. Just let me smoke my herb in peace,

if you were to ask my children about Cannabis, they would tell you that Cannabis makes hemp, and hemp can make paper. If we made Cannabis legal, we would reduce deforestation. They also quite enjoy snacking on hemp granola and milk. It is packed with nutritional Omega-3's.They would tell you that I legally use it for my medical ailments, and it makes me a much happier person.

Health supplements are a rich blend of vitamins, herbs, antioxidants, minerals, enzymes, and amino acids. Also referred to as nutritional or dietary supplementary food products, they are consumed to fortify the daily diet. It is necessary to keep in mind that are never meant for curing, preventing, or treating diseases. An important question: When should be a supplement be taken? A person should essentially get a rich blend of vitamins and minerals through the regular diet chart followed.

I am a mom of two children. Fortunately my children are very healthy. However my niece who is now 17 and has been using cannabis for three years is not so fortunate. Long story short, she was born at 23 weeks and weighed only 1 pound 7 ounces.  She has Hydrocephalus( a buildup of fluid inside the skull that leads to brain swelling), CP, Lupus, Celiac Disease, and thats just a few of the things she suffers with daily.  She started having brain surgies when she was eight months old, and has had well over 100 to date.  Three years ago she hit rock bottom.  She was in a wheelchair, she was non verbal and she was in so much pain that it literally hurt her to even smile.  Since using cannabis she is now walking and even swimming.  She talks just as much as any "normal" 17 year old.  Doctors said she would never get past the fourth grade because of her brains limitations. She is now a junior in high school, after starting cannabis she jumped five grade levels! Also as a result of mass amounts of scar tissue on her brain she had horrible vision and a lazy eye.  After starting cannabis she now has 20/20 vision and no lazy eye!  This "child" has dealt with more pain in her 17 years then I have in my 28 years( including childbirth).  She truly is the poster child for what cannabis can do for our bodies.  I fight for it to be legal for her and for every child/adult out there who could benefit from it.  Cannabis truly is a cure for so many illnesses, and just for those who may still have something negative to say, my neice has NEVER smoked cannabis. She vapes it, eats it, uses rubs/oils and so on.  I would proudly give my children cannabis if ever they needed it and I wouldnt even think twice. Why would any loving parent not give their child something that could help their pain and improve their quality of life?? Its that simple.  I love this site and I am so proud to be a part of it.  Thank you to all the Moms for marijuana.

Looking at the pictures it would seem that most of the photos were pulled off of the internet. Sorry to hear of your difficulties with the photo. The internet can be a cruel place. The photo itself has been monumental in showing the need for awareness that Cannabis not dangerous to anyone. We do not encourage giving it to children, but according to the toxcity of Cannabis, it cannot be harmful. As your experience with the photo shows, our society is in great need of education.

I love this site. I really do. I have been a long time suffer-er of anxiety, depression, and bi-polar disorder. Marijuana is the only medicine I have ever been on that hasn't given me side effects worse than my symptoms. I'm a better mother when I smoke. I can tolerate life better. It seems horrible to most who don't smoke, and It's a shame it's illegal, but alcohol is legal and it kills by the minute.

Ganja Granny sez.. I am a third stage breast cancer survivor, great Grandmother, cannabis activist. I cannot praise the efforts of Moms for Marijuana enough. This is a much needed organization. Women brought about Alcohol Prohibition. It was the women who helped to end Alcohol Prohibition after realizing Prohibition was far more deadly than alcohol. I believe it will be women who will once again be intrumental in ending Prohibition of Marijuana. Educating the public and especially our children is extremely important to our success in removing the stigma, changing minds and hearts and repealing an archaic law against Marijuana. We are in it to win it..There is no going back. Ganja Granny sez STAY BLAZED! Sincerely Arlene Williams NYC http://www.greenribbonworld.

DECRIMINALIZE IT!!! Wake up and realize WE THE PEOPLE have been lied to our whole lives by the very same government we put so much (WAY TO MUCH) faith in... THERE IS STRENGTH IN NUMBERS and they do not have enough GUNS or PRISONS to keep us all INLINE. The BANKSTERS and EVIL CORPORATIONS are controlling our beautiful land WE THE PEOPLE call home and they will never stop taking OUR GOD GIVEN RIGHTS AS HUMANS (not slaves) until WE THE PEOPLE decide to stop doing what THEY tell us to do... Why are they so afraid of this plant? Cannabis grows in nature just like trees, roses, fruits and vegetables (You get the point) It does NOT have to be "SMOKED" to treat the UNHEALTHY (you do not have to be sick or dying of cancer to be UNHEALTHY) Cannabis can be eaten RAW and DOES NOT have to be a flower AKA "BUD" to treat illness... Even during vegetative state you can simply pull leaves from the Cannabis plant and juice it just like WHEATGRASS and it WILL NOT MAKE YOU STONED/HIGH/MEDICATED... Tetrahydrocannabinol AKA "THC" is NOT the only part of Cannabis that CURES illness... Besides THC the Cannabis plant produces several other health benefits... Just look up RAW CANNABIS and PLEASE people DO NOT FEED THE ANIMALS aka BANKSTERS/CORPORATIONS

Peter, because I believe in telling our children the truth. If we lie to our kids then we are giving them permission to lie back. Be open with them and let them choose for themselves with the truthful education. My kids know everything about cannabis, what it can do, and the bright clean future it can bring them. They are well educated enough that when their friends snicker and joke and smoke pot like its a funny and cute thing to do, she can and does speak her truth and tell them that cannabis is not for kids, unless medically (which I would be my first choice in medication!) And she walks away. She doesn't sit around laughing like the rest of them. And you thought you wouldn't get posted?! We are always up for debate!

Great site and cause.

When I left Oregon with my twin girls, their father stayed there.  He has a  medicinal use card in Oregon.  When the twins were in 4th grade and went to spend a couple of weeks with him, he explained his use and the situation to them.  When school started (5th grade), the whole "just say no" and report anyone that smokes pot is what they were hearing.  They were being told how criminal marijuana is, blah blah.  They were very candid with their teachers and classmates about their father.  Of course this resulted in the principal calling me in for a meeting. They were upset at the fact that my girls made it sound like no big deal to use marijuana.  I turned the tables during the meeting I made it VERY clear that  no one is to tell my girls that thier father is a criminal, he is NOT. The "medicine" he uses is legal where he lives and if the school continues to try and make my girls feel bad about their father that I would notify the media.

I remember my twins saying how much they wanted their daddy to move to Texas, but he can't because of his medicine...  :(
